Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program that takes place across the nation for students in grades 3-12. Students come together to demonstrate their reading comprehension abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read. The teams of up to six students are given a list of 20 books to read prior to the competition, and then they are asked specific questions about the books to earn points.
This past October, PCAG had teams competing on both the high school and middle school level at the S.C. Independent School Association’s Battle of the Books competition. Though it was PCAG’s first year, both teams performed well. The high school team even won the state championship for the 2017-2018 school year.
