Student Government Association
Palmetto Christian Academy’s Student Government Association (SGA) is comprised of 6th through 12th graders. SGA members are elected by their peers to serve for one school year. Students can serve as class representatives or school officers, including the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President. In addition to representing their classmates, students also serve on one of four committees dedicated to school spirit and bettering PCAG: the Projects Committee, Swag Committee, Points Committee, and Spirit Committee. One of SGA’s most notable projects was raising over $7,000 to buy 35 Chromebooks for use in classrooms.
SGA meets bi-weekly as a group, and meets as committees outside of meetings, when needed. As part of the South Carolina Independent School Association, PCAG SGA gets to attend two conferences each year with the SGAs of other independent schools. The fall conference takes place in the South Carolina State House in Columbia and the spring conference is in Myrtle Beach. In addition to these large meetings, PCAG SGA is paired up with a sister school SGA for an exchange each year.
